Refund policy

This Refund Policy applies to all services provided by DeanSwanepoel.com (“we”, “us”, “our”), including but not limited to Shopify website development, theme customisation, app development, data migrations, consulting, retainers, service blocks, hosting, and ongoing support services.

By engaging our services or making payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.


1. General No-Refund Policy

All payments made to DeanSwanepoel.com are non-refundable.

This includes (without limitation):

  • Website design and development

  • Shopify theme configuration or customisation

  • Custom app development or integrations

  • Data migration, syncing, imports, or exports

  • Consulting, strategy, audits, or advisory services

  • Pre-paid service blocks or retainers

  • Third-party coordination, troubleshooting, or support

  • Hosting, maintenance, or support services

Once work has commenced, no refunds, reversals, or reimbursements will be issued under any circumstances, except where explicitly required by applicable law.


2. Delivery vs Outcome Expectations

We provide professional services, not guaranteed business outcomes.

Accordingly:

  • A service is considered delivered once the agreed work has been completed and made available to the client (e.g. via staging environment, deployed app, live website, report, or documented output).

  • A client’s dissatisfaction with the process, approach, time investment, or chosen implementation path does not constitute non-delivery.

  • A client’s decision not to use, rely on, or continue with a delivered solution does not create entitlement to a refund or reimbursement.


3. Revisions, Testing & Client Participation

  • Reasonable opportunities to test, review, and request revisions are provided as part of our delivery process.

  • Where a client declines, limits, or refuses further testing, resets, remediation steps, or validation procedures, the service will still be considered delivered.

  • Time spent by the client reviewing, validating, or testing deliverables forms part of normal project engagement and is not grounds for reimbursement.


4. Data, Migrations & Third-Party Dependencies

  • Migration accuracy and synchronisation depend on the integrity of source data and third-party platforms (including Shopify, themes, apps, APIs, and vendors).

  • We are not responsible for historical data inconsistencies, legacy anomalies, or platform-level behaviour outside our control.

  • The need for clean baselines, re-imports, or resets does not constitute defective delivery.


5. Change of Mind, Risk Assessment & Alternative Solutions

No refunds or reimbursements will be granted where:

  • The client changes strategy or business direction

  • The client adopts an alternative workaround or third-party solution

  • The client determines that ongoing reliance presents an internal business risk

  • The client elects not to operationalise delivered work

These scenarios do not invalidate the services rendered.


6. Goodwill Adjustments

Any discounts, credits, free work, or concessions offered by DeanSwanepoel.com are:

  • Provided strictly at our discretion

  • Offered without admission of fault or liability

  • Not precedent-setting

  • Not convertible into cash refunds or reimbursements


7. Chargebacks & Disputes

Unauthorised chargebacks or payment disputes may result in immediate suspension of services and recovery of associated costs.

All disputes must follow the dispute-resolution process outlined in our Terms of Service.


8. Legal Compliance

Nothing in this policy limits any rights the client may have under applicable consumer protection laws where such rights cannot legally be excluded. In all other cases, this Refund Policy applies in full.
